Playing his sitar with DJs at the World Electronic Music Festival, touring Canada as a singer-songwriter, or doing a solo set of classical sitar, Prosad is at home on the stage. In 2006 and 2007 he performed on the main stage at the World Electronic Music Festival outside of Toronto. He performed with internationally acclaimed musicians in the Toronto-Indo-Jazz Festival. He was the guest soloist in the North American Debut of "Legend of Sangeet" for Brass Orchestra and Sitar. And he has also performed for countless Tribal Dances and Yoga Trance Dances (think barefoot "yoga-rave"). In December of 2007, Prosad appeared as an extra in Mike Myer's new movie "The Love Guru", playing sitar and his song Byron Bay was later used in the as part of the film score. He is full of musical talent, having studied guitar from an early age and later graduating from Humber Music College. Prosad recorded 2 independent CDs as a singer-songwriter and then shifted gears completely, turning to Indian music; producing electronic music tracks with organic world instruments, especially the sitar. Inspired by George Harrison, he went from rock to ragas and then went further- to fusion sitar mixed with electro-beats. Drawing on the influences of classical harmony, pop song-writing, electronic music and Indian ragas, he calls his new style "Trance-Sitar". His live show is versatile, depending on the crowd at hand. Prosad will play a set of electronic music with live improvised sitar and didgeridoo. He will perform to loops, mixing sitar with vocals and song-writing. He also performs traditional classical sitar ragas over chilled beats, depending on the mood and the venue. The best concerts usually consist of sets with a blend of these various styles. He normally performs alone as a multi-instrumentalist using loop-technology to fill out his sound. But he will frequently perform with special guest artists, often on the tabla or didgeridoo. In 2006 Prosad travelled through India and Australia. He furthered his study of sitar in India with the great sitar master, Ustad Irshad Khan. He also fell in love with the didgeridoo while in Australia. The didg is now a part of Prosad's live performance as he continues to expand in all directions- performing with DJ's and world music artists from around the globe (India/Australia/Holland/Toronto).
